The successful candidate, working closely with members, will be at the forefront of leading and creating Cumberland Council – a brand new organisation that has been created following the biggest change to local government in Cumbria since 1974.
We are looking for an inspirational leader, brimming with energy who is committed to driving forward positive change for the area, delivering quality services that will make a real difference to people’s lives.
The right candidate will be skilled at bringing together a wide range of services and people – setting a positive and inclusive culture in the new organisation from day one.
We want someone with outstanding communication skills and the ability to lead from the front, outlining and delivering their vision for the organisation and striving for real change and improvement to our communities.
They must be determined to transformation for the better and above all be committed and loyal to our people and to our area. They will be skilled in driving forward a large customer led organisation. With a track record of creating and managing an outstanding leadership team and making those crucial connections externally to facilitate real change.
The successful candidate will have a real ‘can-do’ attitude – they will have an abundance of ideas and a real desire to drive forward improvement. They will have bags of passion with a proven track record in leading organisation wide change management. They will be an excellent leader committed to employee engagement, partnership working and delivering improved outcomes for our residents.
We are looking for someone with the right qualities and experience to oversee an ambitious programme of transformation and be committed to delivering quality services to residents and businesses.
It will take a very experienced leader to help us deliver against our ambitions, as such we are seeking candidates with experience of working in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
They must be innovative, collaborative, a leading force in change management and have a strong track record in developing and maintaining partnerships.
They will be expected to bring commitment, positive energy and a clear vision. Leading an organisation where improvement and innovation is fostered, allowing us to maximise and retain the talent of the council’s new workforce and ensure that their wellbeing and development is a priority over the coming months and years.
